SAFE SPORT

Sunnyside prides itself in being a safe sport environment. Safe, inclusive sport environments help make sport rewarding and enriching for all. Safe Sport Training gives you the knowledge and skills to create those environments by recognizing, addressing and preventing maltreatment in sport. All employees, coaches, staff and volunteers at Sunnyside undergo degrees of safe sport training depending on their level of involvement with the athlete.

CKC Safe Sport Policy

The Canadian Sport Help Line is available to provide you with advice, guidance and resources on how to proceed/intervene appropriately in the circumstances.

Anyone with a concern should feel comfortable reaching out to this free and confidential service as well. Information on their services and how to contact them can be found at; abuse-free-sport.ca.

The abuse free sport phone and texting line is accessible at 1-888-83-SPORT, and is monitored from 8 am to 8 pm Eastern time.

Whether you are directly involved with athletes or play another role in national sport, the CAC’s Safe Sport Training will give you the tools to recognize, prevent and address maltreatment in sport.
