COVID Safety

Please note, this is a cautious and responsible approach as it will help guide Ontario to progress to the next stage. Along with this opening we will be implementing “return to paddle” guidelines from the Chief Medical Officer of Ontario, Dragon Boat Canada and Canoe Kayak Canada. Below are rules that must be followed in the program.

Personal Health

  • All paddlers should self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 on a daily basis and any person showing symptoms should self-isolate, refrain from entering the paddling environment or coming into close contact with others and seek appropriate medical attention.

  • Any person who has had a confirmed case of COVID-19, or who has come into close contact with a person who has a confirmed case, should isolate, not be part of the paddling environment for at least 14 days and seek appropriate medical attention.

  • The Ontario COVID-19 Self-Assessment Tool is available here

  • There should be no carpooling with members outside your living circle

  • Every member must fill out a Waiver & Covid assessment form prior to them coming down to the site linked HERE

Storage Compound Usage

  • When retrieving their boat paddlers should limit contact with surfaces other than the boat they will be using.

  • Paddlers should arrive wearing their paddling clothing along with their PFD and Paddle

  • There will be no more than 5 paddlers within the storage compound at any given time:

    • OC Rental section: 2 max

    • OC Storage Gates: 1 per gate (total of 3)

  • Masks must be worn upon arrival and only be taken off once on the water

  • Paddlers should prepare and get on the water while remaining physically distanced

  • Be conscious while on the water to respect physical distance between boats, wash riding should only be employed in a way that ensures 2m of distance is maintained at all times

  • All surfaces which may be touched by multiple individuals will be sanitized before and after each training session by our Staff

  • Equipment should not be shared between paddlers
